If At First You Don't Succeed - Actively Gemma

Every now and then, I like to find advice that goes against popular opinions.  As soon as I read this one, I knew I had to share it.  One thing everyone is told is that you should never quit, to always persevere and push through.  But sometimes, that doesn't always work in your favor.

"Quitting isn't always a sign of failure.  It can also be a sign of maturity."

Sometimes, you just have to quit.  They key is knowing when.  Try your best.  And try again when that fails.  And if you keep failing, you need to seriously stop and take stock of the situation and really figure out if what you're trying to do is possible for you.

For example, a few years ago, I made the decision to give up my attempts at an engineering major, and instead switch to English.  This ended up being one of the best decisions I've ever made.  Everything in my life drastically improved - both my mental and physical health, my grades, and my happiness.

It's not a bad thing to quit something, as long as you've given it you're all.  We're human.  We can't succeed at everything.

Have you ever given up, only to realize it was a great decision?  I'm interested in hearing your story.
