I’m just going to jump right back into my weekly review as if I haven’t been M.I.A. for weeks (oops).Read More
This week started off pretty normally. I did longer accelerations out of starting blocks on Monday (40m vs. the usual 30). I got tired faster, but that was to be expected. What wasn't expected was how sore and run down I still felt come Wednesday. I ended up just listening to my body (and my coach) and taking the day off after warming up. It was a strange feeling having so much time freed in my day. After I finally comprehended I had nothing to do after warm-up, I sat there for a good minute to figure out what to do next. It was a really strange feeling lol. By Friday, I was feeling back to normal and got through my workout just fine, though.Read More
A few weeks ago, I managed to escape Boston after finding a few last minute track meets to race in. I jumped at the chance to test my legs, and immediately went into a frenzy to get things in order and get to New York. I planned on meeting my teammate, Flings, and her boyfriend, Ramon, when I got there, and basically hang with them for the week as we competed in New York and Canada. In between those meets, I hung out at their home in Syracuse and we all basically became best friends, haha.Read More
I have to admit, the first thing that caught my eye when I found this quote was the author. I've been (repeatedly) binge-watching season 2 of Bojack Horseman on Netflix, and in this season J.D. Salinger actually makes an appearance as a character. So, just seeing his name under this quote made me smile. The quote itself is a good mantra to have, especially when you hit rough times. You've gotten as far as you have already, and survived trials and tribulations both big and small. Don't give up. You'll survive this, too.
Now on to this month's goals!Read More
